Video: Marleau needs to step up in Torres’ absence

As PHT discussed earlier on Thursday, Raffi Torres‘ suspension forced the San Jose Sharks to tweak its lineup going into Game 2 against the Los Angeles Kings.

Before tonight’s contest began, Chris Therrien tabbed a Sharks player who needs to step up: Patrick Marleau. Here’s what Therrien had to say about the former San Jose captain:

So far, the 33-year-old has come up big. He scored the Sharks’ first goal of this second-round series in the second period, making it 2-1. It’s now 2-2, so it’s likely he’ll have more opportunities to prove himself.

    he has 5 goals in 6 games including a game winner, how much more should he have to step it up? he’s trailing only sharp and dupuis in goals right now and he has played same or less games.
