PHT’s Morning Skate takes a look around the world of hockey to see what’s happening and what we’ll be talking about around the NHL world and beyond.

Forward Saku Koivu is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Anaheim Ducks want to re-sign him, but Koivu needs some time to think about his future. (Ducks.nhl.com)

Defenseman Mark Streit‘s contract is also expiring, but he would like to stay with the New York Islanders. (Newsday)

Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville has some lineup decisions to make for Game 1 tonight. Among them is whether or not forward Ben Smith will get a chance to play. He centered the second line during Tuesday’s practice, but Smith isn’t expected to serve in that role when the Blackhawks host the Red Wings. (CSN Chicago)

Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis feels like he personally “let the community down with this Game 7 loss.” The Rangers earned a 5-0 victory over his Capitals. (Monumental Network)

The AHL Connecticut Whale are reverting to their old name, the Hartford Wolf Pack. (NHL.com)

Rangers forward Rick Nash didn’t score a goal in the first round, but he thinks that “the offense will come.” (Newsday)
