PHT’s Morning Skate takes a look around the world of hockey to see what’s happening and what we’ll be talking about around the NHL world and beyond.

Forward Saku Koivu is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Anaheim Ducks want to re-sign him, but Koivu needs some time to think about his future. (Ducks.nhl.com)

Defenseman Mark Streit‘s contract is also expiring, but he would like to stay with the New York Islanders. (Newsday)

Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville has some lineup decisions to make for Game 1 tonight. Among them is whether or not forward Ben Smith will get a chance to play.
