Video: Lucic, Bergeron force OT with goals 31 seconds apart

May 13, 2013, 11:01 PM EDT

The Toronto Maple Leafs had a three-goal lead in the third period and even after a goal from Nathan Horton with 10:42 remaining in regulation time, it seemed all-but certain that the Boston Bruins would be eliminated from the playoffs.

That all changed in a matter of seconds. With the Bruins’ net empty, Milan Lucic and Patrice Bergeron scored back-to-back goals to tie this contest with less than a minute to spare.

If you didn’t catch the Bruins’ late game heroics, you can witness them below:

Bergeron completed the comeback by beating Maple Leafs goaltender James Reimer at 6:05 of the overtime period.

Anytime the Leafs come down to Florida, there’s always a ton of Leafs fan at the arena. Roughly 90% of them are arrogant, obnoxious, and disrespectful. Now I can’t wait for the Leafs to come to town next season! Choke Leafs Choke!!!!!

As opposed to the Florida fans who line up to taunt the Leafs fans on their way out and act like they just won the Cup after a regulation win in December. Nothing arrogant or obnoxious about that, eh?

You must have had a different experience…

Back when Leafs showed in Calgary, their fans came out in droves, really put on a show with paint and get ups, out cheered the locals and partied hearty with never a fight or bad word I can recall?

    Same for les Canadien…

The season was over. About a third of our section left, people were wishing each other a good summer. I have a rule about playoff games, never leave early, and followed it last night. When they scored the first goal, I thought “at least they made respectable, you never know.” When they scored the second goal, the first thing I thought of was “if they call a timeout, set up a play and they get lucky…..” When they scored the third goal, the amazement set in along with the question of “what do the Leaf coaches tell their players ?” Rask made a huge stop in OT to keep the game going and at that point it seemed like it was going to happen then it did. The Bruins imposed their will in the ot and showed a ton of heart getting it there. Kudos to the Leafs and their fans. Class all around.
