Both Nabby and Streiter should be back. Hopefully Streiter will come down off his demands a bit. Isles need a good 1A to compliment Nabby and take the load off of him. Boyes I am not sure about.

Isles would be wise to let Nabokov go and seek a younger, longer-term solution in net. If Halak is leaving the Blues (and it sounds like he is), he’d be a good solution. And hey, Luongo’s up for grabs and Gillis has absolutely no bargaining strength. He’ll have to take whatever someone’s willing to offer. Both worth considering.

You would think the Isles would have second thoughts on giving another goalie a long term big dollar contract like Luonogo already has in place.

True. And with guys like Backstrom and Halak available he shouldn’t be their first target. But Luongo’s going to have to go cheaply, both because of the contract and because everyone knows Gillis has to make a move this summer. He’s handcuffed. Luongo will be very cheap for his talent level.

As a Sharks fan I used to love watching Nabby play but there was a reason we let him walk. He is just not a great goalie in the playoffs. It was great seeing him win games with the Isles this year but when it came to playoff games I knew he was doomed. Hopefully the Isles can find a good goalie to replace him. But they should not resign him.
