Leafs feeling confident after taking Game 5

The Maple Leafs did what they had to do in Game 5 to extend the series. Now that they’re going back to Toronto for Game 6, they’ve got their confidence back.

As Chris Johnston of Sportsnet shares, many of the Leafs feel like they can beat the Bruins, but James Reimer doesn’t want to hear that talk.

“We obviously believe in each other and what we can accomplish as a team, but I don’t think we’re ahead of ourselves,” Reimer said. “We’ve still got a long road ahead of us.”

The Leafs still have to win two more games if they’re going to move on in the postseason so mistakes have to be at a minimum. At the very least they’ve made Boston work harder. Brad Marchand was quoted after last night’s game saying, “Maybe we thought it was going to be a little bit easier than it was going to be.”

One more loss and that dream is done for Toronto, but for now, they’ve got some of that swagger back.
