The Chicago Blackhawks were formidable enough in their 5-2 Game 2 win against the Minnesota Wild on Friday, but they’re not even at full-strength right now.

It sounds like they’re getting closer to that point, however, as backup Ray Emery and two-way forward Dave Bolland are traveling with the team to Minnesota, CSNChicago.com’s Tracey Myers reports.

Head coach Joel Quenneville said that Emery, 30, skated on Friday morning, but it appears that Bolland, 26, did not.

While getting those players back could make a strong team that much tougher, the Blackhawks might settle for merely having Patrick Sharp in the lineup. The Chicago Sun-Times Mark Lazerus points out that Chicago is 27-0-3 when Sharp is in the lineup in 2013.

Let them both sit. Let them get as healthy as possible. Bolland can’t seem to shake whatever he did when he blocked Shea Weber’s shot. His faceoff isn’t great and Ive had enough of him on the 2nd line for now. Deeper in the playoffs I’d prefer him on the 3rd line. Put Shaw on the fourt line and scratch Bollig.

I agree they should both sit until fully healthy. But I don’t want to see Q break up that second line. Shaw has been far better than Bolland all year. Stick Bolly on the 4th line. To quote the old adage: “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Make that the 3rd, my bad

Think Bolland replaces Bolig and bounces between 2nd and 4th lines. 3rd line is clicking (and too fast) for the Rat, and the 2nd line has looked awesome lately with a ton of chances. Need Bolland’s grit, though, especially at the team moves on.

Let them rest for the next series when we need them. The defense is playing very well, I like there physical play.
    Go Hawks!
