The buzzword for Team Canada at this year’s World Championships in Sweden and Finland will definitely be “defense.”

Hockey Canada announced the additions of Coyotes head coach Dave Tippett and Predators bench boss Barry Trotz to this year’s staff. Those two join former Sabres coach Lindy Ruff and assistant coach Doug Shedden on the Canadian bench as they look to improve on their fifth place finish last year.

Team Canada will have plenty of offense at their disposal as Steven Stamkos has made it clear he’s going to play. With a coaching staff like that, however, if you’re not backchecking you’re not doing it right.
