PHT Morning Skate: Hockey had a case of the Mondays

Apr 23, 2013, 7:15 AM EDT

Mondays

PHT’s Morning Skate takes a look around the world of hockey to see what’s happening and what we’ll be talking about around the NHL world and beyond.

Yesterday was one of those days where things got… Awkward. First there was Matt Cooke getting oddly teed off on in an Ottawa Sun column and then there’s Example No. 2: Boston’s Tyler Seguin getting in trouble via Twitter. (Puck Daddy)

Example No. 3: Duncan Keith may or may not have stepped in it knee-deep by getting lippy with a female reporter following Chicago’s loss to Vancouver. (Team Radio 1040)

‘Hawks coach Joel Quenneville says their loss to the Canucks was their “worst game of the season.” (CSNChicago.com)

Nail Yakupov wants to close the season strong and take a run at the Calder Trophy. (Edmonton Journal)

The Leafs making the playoffs gives the team the opportunity to raise their already league-high ticket prices another 75-percent (!!!). (Toronto Sun)

Speaking of the Leafs, Sean McIndoe hits it out of the park with his thoughts on them making the playoffs. (Grantland)

They’re loving Radko Gudas in Tampa Bay. (Tampa Tribune)

Kyle Wellwood will be done for a while whether the Jets make the playoffs or not with a broken hand. (Winnipeg Sun)

The ECHL’s Trenton Titans are shutting it down out of the blue. (The Trentonian)
