Rangers forward Brian Boyle is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury, according to the club.

Boyle was injured during Tuesday’s game against the Flyers. The club isn’t provided any specifics, but it’s reportedly a right leg injury.

Yesterday, the Rangers recalled forward Chris Kreider from AHL Connecticut. The 21-year-old could replace Boyle tonight versus Florida at MSG.

Boyle, 28, has had a frustrating season, scoring just two goals with three assists in 38 games.

As much as I like Boyles Physical presence in this lineup Im happy we recalled Kreider. Here in NY we call Jeter Mr November, well Kreider last season without a doubt was Mr April and I wont be surprised if he lights it up again for us.

What physical presence? For as big as he is, Boyle has been playing awful soft this year.

wish boyle a speedy recovery. In my eyes and I am sure I am in the minority, this is a big loss. boyle for some odd reason has become many ranger fans whipping boy but I think he is what he is. a solid pker who will lay the body. And come playoff time, if we are lucky enough to get there his style of play is important to have. Now THREE words for coach tortorella in regards to kreider, LET HIM PLAY. IF thats the case and he gives him 10 to 15 min a night, with his speed and skill the trade off is not all that bad.
