Video: Does Blackhawks’ Kane kick Detroit’s Ericsson…down there?

Apr 13, 2013, 6:00 AM EDT

Have a look: The right skate of Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane seems to kick back into the…groin region…of Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericsson during Friday’s game.

Ericsson went down to the ice in considerable pain and then to the bench.

Now that was an incredibly stupid thing to do! Any kicking of another player should draw an automatic suspension. Risks are too high. But no injury on the play so the DOPS will look the other way.

Oops! Sorry for the bad end tag. Can’t type very well at 6 in the morning.

Well it sure looks like a distinct kicking motion to me, I say no goal!!!! And I’m sure if it was Ericsson kicking Kane every Hawks fan on the planet would be screaming bloody murder. If the Wings can hang on and maybe win some games here we see them in the playoffs, if that happens watch out Kaner Big E has a mean streak!!!!!

I think this would be a case of: “There is a distinct kicking motion, good goal!”

Ericsson didn’t seem to be hurt by the matter, I don’t think it would be suspension worthy. Hit Kane’r with a fine, were it me I’d throw him up against the limit.

My unbiased opinion is that it looks accidental and even if it wasn’t, the video is inconclusive. No suspension will be handed out. Just my thoughts though, I unfortunetly am not getting paid by the NHL to make this decision.

Obviously biased opinions flooding the comment section. Anybody who’s ever played the game can see clearly that Kane took a shove in the back, causing him to lose his balance. He never has been and never will be a dirty player. Get over it and move on people.

As a ‘Hawks fan who thinks Kane’r kicked Ericsson on purpose, what’s my bias?

  11. tdrusher225 - Apr 13, 2013 at 11:05 AM

Not intentional whatsoever. That’s a common way to stumble when you lose your balance skating. No way he did that on purpose.

Joe Avg go screw. Like he did it on purpose. Your a moron

You should use correct spelling when calling other people names

Lets see Redwing fans that possibly are also Lions fans that say there was no chance that when Suh kicked Schuab in the nuts was intentionally, but at least he was facing him. Now Kane who was being pushed from behind some how was able to kick Ericsson intentionally.

    • lionstigersandwingsohmy - Apr 13, 2013 at 5:48 PM

This fan doesn’t think either were intentional.
