Nashville fans may not have to wait until Monday before seeing the spoils of the Martin Erat trade in action.

Predators coach Barry Trotz told reporters today that Swedish star Filip Forsberg could make his debut as soon as tomorrow against Detroit if everything goes according to plan. Joshua Cooper of The Tennessean hears it from Trotz.

“If everything is all good then I will put him in the lineup tomorrow,” Trotz said. “David (Poile) has talked to him, and he’s on his way. He has been skating. If he feels comfortable, and we’ll have a morning skate, I’ll put him in the lineup tomorrow.”

The Predators are all but out of the playoff race being seven points back of Detroit for eighth in the West with six games to play. They could help deal a blow to the Red Wings’ postseason hopes by beating them, however. The Predators have a dearth of offensive prospects in their system and if Forsberg can show a spark, they’ll feel a lot better about the Erat deal in Music City.
