Sabres’ Ott tries to lick Habs’ Halpern?

Apr 11, 2013, 10:12 PM EDT

So, we’ve all seen players lined up on faceoffs, pushing and shoving, talking trash in the ear of the opponent. Common place in hockey. But, you don’t see something like this everyday.

A photo began circulating on Twitter during the Buffalo Sabres-Montreal Canadiens game Thursday night of what looks like Steve Ott sticking out his tongue near the face of Jeff Halpern.

Is this one of the players that Brendon Ayanbadejo was referring to?

As funny as that picture is, Id guess that its not actually what it seems. Probably just a picture taken at the right angle, at the right time while Ott was licking his lips or something.

No, I saw it live on CBC. Ott stuck his tongue out to Halpern. Probably to get a reaction from him. The CBC crew had fun with it.

I never notice it live but I’m amazed by how many pictures I see of guys playing with their tongue hanging out. On of these days somebodys gonna get smacked in the chin and a fleshy appendage will be laying on the ice in a pool of blood. Not cool at all.
