Roberto Luongo injures hand during Canucks warmup

April has already been a tough month for Roberto Luongo.

First, there was that well-publicized bit of honesty following the disappointment that came from not being moved during the trade deadline. Now he might be injured.

Luongo seemed to hurt his hand or wrist during pre-game warmups for Monday’s Vancouver Canucks contest against the Phoenix Coyotes, according to footage provided by NHL Network. It’s very early so it’s unclear if this could be a significant issue.

Cory Schneider was set to start tonight, anyway, and this might simplify things for Alain Vigneault if this is substantial. The Canucks would likely prefer to deal with the “problem” of choosing between two quality goaltenders instead, though.

everybody rips luongo for the contract but who is the idiot who signed him up? Unlike Garth Snow who gets ripped at every turn

garth snow, what about Glen Sather. 2 of the worst deals in NHL history where handed out to Bobby Holik 5 years/ 45 Scott Gomez 7 years/ 51 million. thats not even counting the bad Redden deal

I still think the Canucks are going to need this guy at some point the rest of the way.

Hopefully he keeps his head up and stays focused amid all the distractions that seem to surround him on a daily basis.
