“I am pleased to announce… while I act like I’m not reading off cue cards… that the 2013 NHL Winter Classic- huh? It says 2013 on the card… oh we’re just re-using the same card? OK. 2014 Winter Classic, whatever. Detroit and Toronto… ah, can we just show last year’s announcement? I’m in a hurry to get to the front nine, you know?”

You can thank your pal Fehr for that …

Yes, it wasn’t a matter of BOTH sides being jackoffs, after all.

    BETTMAN RULES !!!

Like many of you, I too never really cared for Bettman before. But ever since the upset and ordeal of the lockout last fall, my opinion of our NHL commissioner has gone from tepid support then to unbridled reverence today! The only reason this particular WC has been postponed by a year is thanks to the idiot Fehr. That goof was handed a script to read from and he was paid off handsomely, yet that still wasn’t enough for the man! No, he had to go all Sarah Palin “rogue-like” and pretend that he actually had something to value add … what a complete joke! I also didn’t care for the unorthodox tactics which Bettman used in dealing with Fehr and his “reactionary” supporters. The contrived labor impasse, the fake press conferences, the phoney meetings, etc. But I guess there are times when that old adage “sometimes you’ve got to fight dirty” does apply in life eh? Anyway, that upset is all behind us now and we’ve got an excellent season going here, with the playoffs just around the corner!

update from the front: we LA Kings engage the Ducks tonight … imperative that we win …

    GO ELVIS !!

    GO BETTMAN !!!

GO STANLEY CUP CHAMPION LA KINGS !!!!

Not a bad match up, but rumors of an out door game in LA is a joke. It cheapens the whole thing. Hockey’s roots can be traced to playing on ponds and lakes, not beaches and oceans. The NHL needs to stay true and not sell out…again http://www.helpersports.wordpress.com
