Video: Ott hopes Sabres turn buyer at NHL deadline

Apr 2, 2013, 11:27 PM EST

A 4-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, winners in 15 straight prior to Tuesday, had Buffalo Sabres forward Steve Ott in a good mood post-game.

And he didn’t try to hide his optimism for the future. Even if the Sabres sit 12th in the Eastern Conference standings and five points out of the final playoff position, and following recent trades to defensemen Robyn Regehr and Jordan Leopold.

Despite the fact the Sabres look to be selling in the lead-up to Wednesday’s trade deadline (3 p.m. ET), Ott hopes perhaps Buffalo can go looking to buy tomorrow.

At this point he’d be better to just ask for a trade. Seems like he desperately wants to be on a playoff team but that’s just not gonna happen in Buffalo this year.

He’s got team-speak down to a science. Let the “Ott for captain” campaign start tomorrow….

Buy who? Another player that can’t score?

I’m really hoping Pegula won’t let Regier buy anything, just accumulate pics that hopefully a new competent GM will be able to deal with over the summer! We need a GM who can put a real team together!!!
    Fire REGIER!

Thank you Bills20xx thank you! You’re the only one that agrees with me Sabres should fire the GM!
