And PHT refuses to talk about how Pittsburgh Pens fans treats African Canadian hockey players ! To anyone that reads this google Wayne Simmonds Pittsburgh fans racist tweets ! Is Pittsburgh near Alabama they are PHILTHY people and don’t deserve the quality of an individual like Iginila in there town !

    • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 7:39 AM

Oh yeah I forgot watch one of the racist pigs sit at his or her computer and log on and off to give this 50 thumbs down ! REDNECKS !

      • prd797 - Mar 29, 2013 at 8:06 AM

Every fanbase has classless clowns. Nature of sports all over the world. If you stoop to their level, how does that solve anything?

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 8:14 AM

Agreed ! Point being if this was Philadelphia it would make national headlines but its PityBurgh so nobody cares ! A bunch of Yinzers and it gets no attention !

      • comeonnowguys - Mar 29, 2013 at 9:13 AM

PRD’s right, every fanbase have chuckleheads.

However, I have to agree that if it were Philly or Boston fans doing it, it’d be displayed front and center complete with a fair share of Penguin fans looking down their noses at the stupid racists.

Signed, Not Exactly a Fan of Philly or Boston Fans.

      • jpelle82 - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:01 AM

oh the irony…calling a group of people racist by using racist namecalling to do so. you never cease to amaze me….

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:06 AM

Yinzer is not in any form describing a race it is a term for somebody from Pityburgh you stupid Yinzer, so amaze that you dope !

      • jpelle82 - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:07 AM

        redneck is

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:09 AM

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:15 AM

Color has nothing to do with the word redneck, redneck is an attitude you stupid Yinzer !

      • jpelle82 - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:33 AM

you’re wrong. redneck refers to a group of people, specifically appalachian coal miners known for wearing red bandanas to union strike (my grandfather was one). it also refers to a group of Scots because of their religious and political stances in the 1600’s, they also wore red garments around their necks. in its most derogatory and modern form – it refers to poor white rural folk, but since i expect thats the only context you’ve ever heard of, i will point out the critical word in that definition for you…white…therefore making it racist and specific. you should have paid attention in history class.

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:36 AM

Never heard of the R word you stupid Yinzer !

      • jpelle82 - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:46 AM

i doesnt surprise me you havent heard of something

      • ironman721 - Mar 29, 2013 at 12:55 PM

Unfortunately, even in 2013, their are still uneducated, racist, sexist, anti-gay, discriminating people in all cities, fan bases, and sports arenas around the would. You can hope they receive the education they so desperately need but usually “you can’t fix stupid”. I don’t think this is an issue in Pittsburgh and I hope it never is. You are entitled to your opinion eiggles… sorry, but I think YOU are in the “minority” with that way of thinking.

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 1:17 PM

ironman I know you are a good dude unfortunately I have no place else to go like in an officer and gentleman and totally admit to being frustrated and the pens bearing the brunt of that ! You know how good I think the pens are but I have to vent and ramble and will eventually burn out unless by some miracle we meet up (no chance but it sounds good so thanks for being the voice of reason and shutting me up !

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 1:20 PM

But you gotta admit the Yinzer reference sounds pretty nasty,, but in reality its clean !

      • ironman721 - Mar 29, 2013 at 3:46 PM

You are good dude. I enjoy most of your rants. I don’t always agree. Mostly because I’m a pens fan but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy some of the crazy 💩 you say. If our teams were reversed I would probably go off a little too. This is a free country so please rant away. 👍

    • kmacle - Mar 29, 2013 at 8:11 AM

If you’ve got a problem with tweets, take it up on twitter. Matter of fact, why don’t you and the other troll take your race-baiting nonsense somewhere else. There’s no place for it here.

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 8:15 AM

    • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 8:27 AM

Oh and by the way Richard Park (Korean Decent) wasn’t treated very warmly by the Yinzers either !

      • whammy71 - Mar 29, 2013 at 3:22 PM

We love Koreans…..Jimmy Paek is DVE Mario’s gardener and lives in the tool shed!!!!! WHAMMY!!!!!

        BTW – you my friend….are a turd!

    • hockeywithdrawal - Mar 29, 2013 at 9:12 AM

My friend, the only thing lower class than the Philly writer who hated Pittsburgh so much that he wanted to highlight those tweets from those classless scumbags is talking about it here.

This is the equivalent of me going through the judicial system in Philly and pointing out that everyone in Philly is a racist because there are people in jail for rape there.

      Below even you.

      • hockeywithdrawal - Mar 29, 2013 at 9:13 AM

I meant rapist. Evidently I still have the dumb.

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 10:08 AM

Wow that’s the stupidest thing I ever read !

      • hockeywithdrawal - Mar 29, 2013 at 10:26 AM

        That’s actually reassuring.

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 10:32 AM

A Yinzer would find it no other way !

      • hockeywithdrawal - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:23 AM

        Take a gander….

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:33 AM

Yinzer your population is like 300k Philly 1.5 mill we have more fine Afican Americans and other fine minorities than you have Yinzers in your city ! We have a black mayor yinzer,, do you yinzers ever make any points post 1975 ?

      • hockeywithdrawal - Mar 29, 2013 at 12:32 PM

alright bud – I’ve played along for a little while to illustrate that there’s no responsibility in those articles, but I see you’re just a sick fella.

      • phillyphanatic77 - Mar 29, 2013 at 12:01 PM

There are intolerant people wherever you go, whether it’s New Hampshire or Alabama, Oregon or Arizona. People are always going to judge those who are different, it’s just human nature. But that gawker article is far off base. Philadelphia is one of the most diverse cities in America. We’ve had two straight black mayors and there is an entire gay district. It is an extremely liberal city filled with numerous grass roots campaigns preaching topics like equality. It’s a college town with a lot of open-minded professors, students, and administrators. All the examples provided in that article are well over 20 years old. And attitudes have changed greatly in the past two decades. I don’t agree that Pittsburgh is filled with intolerant rednecks just as much as I disagree that Philly is filled with bigots. They’re both inaccurate. There are prejudiced people in every city but that doesn’t define the City’s attitudes. Were there well documented cases of police brutality towards minorities in the 70s and earlier? Yes, but that has no bearing on today. Things have changed. Police corruption and political bosses are no longer a major issue. I know you were just defending the uncalled for accusations about Pittsburgh, but just citing one article with outdated sources doesn’t make an argument.

      • hockeywithdrawal - Mar 29, 2013 at 12:37 PM

Agreed, completely. And actually I don’t believe Philadelphia is racist, I think the entire conversation is stupid. I only posted it to illustrate that there is no license given when someone becomes a journalist, and there is less responsibility than ever taken for the things that writers publish. Wasn’t trying to make an argument of it as far as which city is more racist (I don’t believe either is), only trying to illustrate how pathetic the point was to begin with. I’m going to go concentrate on hockey – but thanks for the reply – certainly not implying you’re racist.

    • capitals13 - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:14 AM

Its true Pittsburgh has racist fans, but there’s no need to blame the entire city and its fan-base which is just unfair and bringing in Alabama in this whole situation which Alabama has no involvement in.

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:16 AM

Your right I stand corrected !

  2. penzfan329 - Mar 29, 2013 at 7:56 AM

    Dude what is your problem?

    • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 8:03 AM

See what Iam talking about ” Dude whats your problem ” the rebels from pittsburgh just don’t get it !

    • upyoursnfu - Mar 29, 2013 at 8:18 AM

He’s a crybaby. That’s his problem. Poor little boy.

    • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 8:18 AM

Sorry for calling you’s rednecks and rebels the proper word is Yinzers !

      • upyoursnfu - Mar 29, 2013 at 8:32 AM

You are not only are a constant whiner but your also a moron. Keep crying little man.

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 8:36 AM

What you can’t take it,, your fan base can come down on my guy Simmonds but nobody can come down on you racist Yinzers ,,defend yourselves with something better than ,whiner crying ,you Yinzer !

  3. prd797 - Mar 29, 2013 at 7:58 AM

Crazy to think about Mr. Hockey being 85. Hawks Vs Wings game is the last regular season game the two will play as members of the same division and conference, so hopefully the birthday man gets a real thriller to watch like the last time the two teams met. Rivalry will be missed. It has been one of the better all-time rivalries in hockey.

    • comeonnowguys - Mar 29, 2013 at 9:16 AM

I still don’t get it, it’s like breaking Bears/Packers. Do you think in a hundred years the NFL would do that?

Maybe that’s why they light their cigars with what the NHL makes yearly.

  4. 5hole26 - Mar 29, 2013 at 8:55 AM

eiggles, your philthy city is the epitome of a used tampon. your flygirls are the worst team in the league and the jealousy that seeps out of your scumbag pores is so obvious that it makes me feel kind of bad for you. youll never have a team like the franchise. we deserve respect from a classless city like yours. We own u bro

    • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 10:02 AM

  5. sportsfreak13 - Mar 29, 2013 at 8:57 AM

I still can’t believe that the pens got Iginla. To watch this lineup play when fully healthy is going to be awesome. Love us or hate us you should watch us because were playing really good hockey right now and its fun to watch. I know they cancelled the All Star game this year, but someone forgot to tell Pittsburgh. What a lineup. Thanks Ray,Mario, and Mr. Burkell.

  6. whatthepuck2012 - Mar 29, 2013 at 9:32 AM

Pittsburgh is one of the least racist cities I’ve ever been to. Richard Park was treated fine. And Georges Laraque was ADORED here. Stereotyping an entire city for the actions of a classless few would leave us wide open to label Philly a town full of morons, based solely on your posts.

    • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 10:05 AM

Ya because G Laraque would kick any Yinzer’s a## !

    • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 10:30 AM

Ok let me get this straight although a fine African Canadian who played in front of your racist Yinzer fans was a stone cold goon with a capital GOON but was ADORED as you so gayly put it ! So I guess you can relate to other cities ADORING their goons you stupid Yinzer !

      • mcjax - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:46 AM

eigglesnosuperbowls: You have used the words gay, yinzer, rebel, and redneck and you call Pittsburghers racist?!
Are you the pot or the kettle? Stereotyping will get you know where and ignoring Geore Laraque point is close minded. Also, if all Pittsburghers were racist then how come you see people wearing Andrew McCutchen, Hines Ward, Joe Greene, Roberto Clemente, etc jerseys all over Pittsburgh? Stick to tweeting!

      • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:52 AM

        Keep trying Yinzer !

  7. manchestermiracle - Mar 29, 2013 at 9:49 AM

Gee, PHT, I’m not sure that that guy living in the woods north of Siberia has heard about this trade yet, so you’d better run a couple more articles about it. Maybe speculate on what Iginla will have for his first breakfast in Pittsburgh or maybe whether or not he’s joined the groundhog fanclub there in Punxsutawney. When you get done with that essential function how about entertaining the idea of reporting actual games that were played last night? Yeah, thanks, that would be great.

    • hrudey - Mar 29, 2013 at 11:47 AM

Tell me about it. I mean, it’s our fault for coming to PennsylvaniaHockeyTalk in the first place, but I’d think that by, I dunno, almost noon the next day there might be some sort of mention of the LA Not-Penguins beat the St. Louis Not-Flyers on a late goal by Not-Sidney-Crosby, followed up by an empty netter by Not-Jarome-Iginla. I guess you’ve got to win a Cup (*) to get some mention in these parts.

(*) – Obviously, the Pennsylvania Postseason Hockey Cup, currently owned by the Flyers. There are legends of some other Cup that hockey teams vie for, but I’m hard-pressed to remember any of them.

  8. penzfan329 - Mar 29, 2013 at 12:10 PM

Are all of you like 11 years old. Last I checked this was a hockey article. Not somewhere to argue a city being better than another and bring race into it. This is dumb

    • comeonnowguys - Mar 29, 2013 at 2:21 PM

At risk of tempting Muphry’s Law:

It’s called punctuation. Try using some before you tell us how stupid we are.

  9. 5hole26 - Mar 29, 2013 at 5:19 PM

    eiggles has aids

  10. whatthepuck2012 - Mar 29, 2013 at 5:26 PM

Adored is a “gay” word? Please keep talking, eiggles, and show us how tolerant and diverse your thinking is. Bigot.
Oh…and I’m a chick. So cue the sexism in 3….2….1….

    • ironman721 - Mar 29, 2013 at 6:02 PM

But are you hot? Just kidding… Someone had to say it. Haha. Give them hell! Haha!
