Yes, Evgeni Malkin is back

As speculated earlier, Evgeni Malkin will play for the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday, the team confirms. He must want to get warmed up for Jarome Iginla, huh?

The Penguins have managed to continue their winning streak without him, going 9-0-0 with the 26-year-old star on the mend since March 9. They’ve had to adjust their style, impressively allowing just nine goals in those nine games to extend their winning streak to a season-high 13 games.

Don’t blame Malkin if the team starts to leak goals upon his return, though.

There could be some growing pains with Kris Letang back on the IR, Marc-Andre Fleury injured and new pieces like Douglas Murray and Brenden Morrow (plus eventually Iginla) to integrate into the lineup.

Me thinks my Jets are coming home with their tails between their legs. I just hope the boys can keep it respectable, lol.

Buff is too slow for the NHL!!!

They’ve got the division wrapped up, got new toys to play with on the team, are in no way going to miss the playoffs……I would have sat him out another week just to be safe.

Oh how the rich get richer.
A couple games ago they add Morrow, a game later they add Murray,
tonight they add Malkin and the next game they will add Iggy.
All this while they are on a 13 game win streak, giving up 9 goals in 9 games and Sid tearing up the league.
But what is truly amazing is that if Shero isn’t done shopping, he still has $4,444,049 left in cap space.

More, actually, if he trades someone on his roster, because the cap hit of the player he is trading goes away, and can thus be deducted from the cap hit of whoever is coming in.

Finally, this roster doesn’t really have any talent without him.

He’s back with a goal in the 1st! I know “It’s the Jets” but the new look Pens are looking good!

Umm guys it’s 4-0 Pens. So far at least it doesn’t look like they’re leaking goals. Maybe the Jets are leaking goals but not the Penguins.
