Evgeni Malkin could be back in the Pittsburgh lineup tonight when the Penguins host the Jets.

The club announced this afternoon that Malkin (shoulder) has been activated from injured reserve and that forward Beau Bennett has been re-assigned to its AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Malkin has been out of the lineup since March 9. While he was out, the Penguins won all nine of their games, surrendering just nine total goals. However, at the risk of nitpicking an impressive winning streak minus a star player, they only scored more than three goals twice.

On Tuesday, the Pens defeated Montreal, 1-0, for their 13th straight victory.

Pittsburgh has also recalled goalie Jeff Zatkoff from the minors. If necessary, Zatkoff will back up Tomas Vokoun as starter Marc-Andre Fleury recovers from a reported neck injury.

The most important Pens free agent signing has gone unnoticed ! NBC’s aka Penguin Network signing of Piere “Iam for Hire ” Mcquire to a 10 year extension has assured the Penguin organization that the propaganda campaign is in safe hands for the next decade !

He did win a Cup with the Penguins.

      Milbury is a homer,
      Roenick does the same.

Buccigross signed a contract with ESPN over the summer, and he too is from Pittsburgh. Did you complain then too?

Promoting the best player in the world is what you want your favorite league to do. Get over it.

Another pens article another stupid comment from you. Troll much? Also didn’t Snider broker a deal for Comcast to be bought by NBC??

After years of listening to Pierre McGuire on TSN, I can tell you there have many occasions when he’s been critical of the Pens.

That being said, the dude does need a thesaurus. During World Junior coverage, he uses the word “special” to describe virtually every future NHL player.

He is certainly knowledgeable and has good insight into the game – if his voice just wasn’t so annoying. He gets on your nerves quickly. But at least he’s not as bad as Paul Steigerwald.

This just in:: Nobody cares what a fan of a team that hasn’t won anything in nearly 4 decades and is sitting near the bottom of the standings as we speak.

the ageofahole nobody cares what you think and your team is in first place

The only thing that could possibly make my day any worse is finding out that the Pens traded Tyler Kennedy, a second round pick, a prospect and a bag of pucks to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Martin St. Louis. At that point I don’t know how I would have any hope for the rest of the season.

    • valoisvipers - Mar 28, 2013 at 6:49 PM

They are a couple million short on the cap space to acquire Martin St Louis or else it would have been done today. The coach is going to have to decide where all this new talent is going to play.Problems what problems?

      • revansrevenant - Mar 28, 2013 at 6:58 PM

I’m fairly certain sending Kennedy the other way would give them enough room.

I thought the NHL was not having an All-Star game thisd year… Dild some one forget to tell the Pens?

    • eigglesnosuperbowls - Mar 28, 2013 at 6:27 PM

More like an old timers game !

      • patrickhelper - Mar 28, 2013 at 6:29 PM

As a Sabres fan, im ok with the Pens age and future cap issues. But i wouldnt want to run into them in th play offs this year

  4. patrickhelper - Mar 28, 2013 at 6:31 PM

Granted Buffalo wont need to worry

  5. spochiefsfan - Mar 28, 2013 at 6:47 PM

There’s a reason there are so many Pens articles… they’re making news.
I dunno about you all but I don’t like looking at a blank or skim newspaper.
Enjoy the incredibly exciting and dramatic hockey while we have it!!!

It pisses me off that Bennett has to stay down and Kennedy has to stay up. Same for Despres (When Letang comes back). Both have proven they can handle the big show, yet due to inferior players having to clear waivers, the good prospects get tossed down.

They’ll be back after the 3rd.
