What a run it was for the Columbus Blue Jackets – 12 consecutive games with at least a point.

Suddenly the Blue Jackets have gotten themselves back into the playoff hunt in the Western Conference. But the streak came to an end Saturday in a 5-2 loss to the Nashville Predators.

The loss comes one day after the Blue Jackets extended their streak to 12 games with a point in a dominant 5-1 performance over the listless Calgary Flames.

Things didn’t quite go their way in Nashville.

Sergei Bobrovsky, who had the second best save percentage (.932) and the fifth best goals-against average (2.00) among NHL goalies before play began Saturday, was pulled from the Columbus net before the 11-minutes mark of the opening period.

He allowed four goals on 11 shots, before giving way to back-up Steve Mason.

Nashville Predators forward Rich Clune was given a major penalty for interference and a game misconduct for a late hit on Columbus forward Artem Anisimov midway through the first period.

Anisimov returned to the game, scoring in the second period.

The Blue Jackets began a four-game road trip Saturday.
