Meanwhile, Tampa can't go more than 2 wins in a row without imploding again. Columbus is a great example of just how far good goaltending and team defense can take a team.
Said it in the other thread but I'll say it again: Who said March Madness was just for college basketball???? Everyone loves a Cinderella story.

This season is everything I thought it would be and more. Aside from Calgary and Florida, essentially every team has been in a possible playoff position sometime during this year. As soon as the Hawks streak ended, the Pens and BJs started streaking. To most people's surprise, the BJs streak IS NOT a losing streak. All Original 6 teams might make the playoffs for the first time in almost 20 years. The Rangers, the standout SC favorites, might be the ones that prevent it from happening. Luongo is a savior. Luongo lets in 8 goals. The 2 best hockey markets in the world are back. The Ovi/Crosby debate has been unanimously declared a closed case. Tim Thomas gets traded but also decides he wants to still play next season, probably, maybe not, possibly he will? Nobody knows. Erik Karlsson is still tied for third most goals among defenseman and he hasn't played since the beginning of February. Ryan Miller decides the Sabres are enemy #1. There is an outcry after an artist details Bryz's star wars mask the wrong color in the midst of a Russian meteor shower he goes on the radio to comment on. The Staals wear visors. Jonathan Toews gets in a fight. MAF has a better S% than Quick, Smith, Rinne, Hiller, Halak, Elliot, and Miller. Wait, who are Moulson and Kadri? Brodeur has more goals this season than 200+ current NHL players. Selanne recalls that time he scored 132 points and won rookie of the year the same year his linemates Palmieri and Holland celebrated their second birthdays. They say they don't believe him so he starts the season on a pace to do it again. It's just been a great, memorable season! Exactly what was needed after the lockout! I love it!!!

when a team that has been a doormat for years and hasnt won a playoff game in franchise history is on the verge of a playoff spot, its a feel good story. Regardless of how they're winning or losing, what they are doing given the circumstances is impressive.
