Just like Dan Ellis, Justin Peters has been solid. He even pitched a shutout in only a couple starts.

The Hurricanes struggles are not due to goalie, its because they have suddenly been completely in-ept at scoring goals. Last night's game was painful to watch as every bounce seemed to go against them and then they lost the momentum. It also doesn't help when you put the puck in your own goal during a delayed penalty.

That being said, the 'Canes are far from falling out of the race. With the resurgence of Washington and a tough schedule for the Jets over the next week, including a game with the 'Canes on Tuesday, the Southeast is very much up for grabs. The last five games are not going to decide the race, the next few weeks will decide who wins the SE.

Lots of Goalies available, but with with Cam Ward back next season, It has to be someone that will have trade value after the season or who could be a great backup netminder. I would trade for Ben Bishop if I were the GM. Should only cost 2nd-3rd rounder, Bishop could give Cam Ward a little competition for some time in goal net next season. With Lehner playing very good and proving he can be a #1 why not trade one of Bishop/ Anderson. If the latter is healthy again, he would fetch a lot more than Bishop at the deadline.
