Apparently the sniper stalking Marian Hossa was delayed by bad weather as Hedman [ and Coyle in Detroit ] were able to cowboy-up and skate to their respective benches…

That makes absolutely no sense at all! A no-no would be if both feet left the ice (you know jumping, which would make it charging) not one foot! Tell me smart guy….what do you call this so called penalty for having one skate off the ice? Hop-Skotching maybe? By the way there was no elbow either. His shoulder made contact with Hedman’s head….

Lupol might get one game but by no means was there any intent to injure and kgod30, you moron, maybe you should try watching the video before thinking yourself witty! There was no elbow at all. Lupols shoulder makes contact with Hedmans head but since Lupol is nowhere near being labelled a dirty player I think this was nothing more than a poorly timed hit….

Yo, Hedman is 6 foot 6. Pretty hard to “accidentally” hit him in the head. Were ya aiming for the air above him and missed because he was too tall?

Yeah, that’s what I saw and that’s what drew the penalty in the first place. Lupul saying he didn’t try to hit Hedman in the head is pretty lame. You’d think some of these guys were unaware that video recording had even been invented.

Just for the record, I think Lupul just made a split-second poor decision, like a lot of players, and he didn’t intend to maim Hedman. The Rinaldo hit the other night was clearly intended to main Malone, and Rinaldo easily saw that Malone was trying to track a bouncing puck and didn’t see him coming. I think everyone here knows a hit can be dirty and still technically within the rules.

Looked a lot like what giroux did in the playoffs last year. He got 1 game…. Lupul isn’t a dirty player, Maybe 1 or 2 games

You can say it’s always been this way, but this year I see too many checks delivered seemingly for the sole purpose of maiming the opponent. The purpose of a check is supposed to be to take the opponent out of the play, not to end their career. These goons are just shooting their teams in the foot and putting everyone else in the mindset to get even. It seems a big chunk of the threads on this site revolve around who is the dirtier team. When a player on their own team is the victim, the fan is automatically outraged, but if a player on the other team is the victim, it was always a clean hit. It’s just silly. The coaches must be condoning it, unless the players just aren’t listening.
