Highcountrybear - Assuming you're be serious, I have to say that I agree with the "essence" of your words. However the fact remains that the strong will always prevail over the weak. I wish that wasn't so and that the order of things was more along the lines of the "good always prevailing over the bad" ... but that just isn't the way life works, sad to say. So what to do? Well my philosophy in life is to simply make the "best" of it, while never surrendering our God given core values of decency & compassion, despite the wickedness and despair which can at times surround us.

A MEETING OF KINGS

Regardless of one's politics or favorite team, any decent "values-driven" person can't help but smile at the prospect of this "wonderful" encounter next week. I personally don't care for Obama the way I did four years ago. Yet there's no denying of the fact that he's done "pretty good" when you consider the fact that he was handed the keys to the Titanic one hour "after" hitting the iceberg! While the US is still "badly" wounded economically, things seem to have stabilized now with some "green shoots" of optimism even appearing here and there?

As for our beloved LA Kings, well no words could ever adequately describe the supreme "glory and victory" of our enterprise during last year's 2012-13 campaign. After initially being mocked and laughed at, especially by the likes of many of you, we Kings went on an attack which the NHL hasn't seen the likes of for generations! Everything that came before us was "crushed" with ruthless aplomb, conviction and honor. In the end, we ended up laying waste to the entire league, thus proving that we weren't just the "best" who Gary handed the Cup to ... we were the "absolute" best!

GO OBAMA !!

GO CHAMPION LA KINGS !!!!

Good on Kings...hearty congratulations are due everyone, particularly Darryl Sutter, living proof of what good coaching can do!

Still, there have been rumblings from the Sutter camp that may spill into proceedings next Tuesday when Darryl has Barack's ear:

Coach Sutter is refining language on a proposal for an altered route for the Keystone pipeline that proposes a 800 mile in diameter spiral spinning through lands of family, friends and even enemies in and around Viking Alberta, this before uncoiling for a straight shot deep into the heart of Texas [ everyone's odds-on favourite as the place to dump Alberta's dirty oil, and its attending environmental risk ].

In the meantime, President Obama may have to deal with other special interest groups before the big sell-out to big oil can begin...

First nations people on both sides of the border are also expressing their reservations at pipeline proposals. It would seem they have presumed to take an interest in both their lands, what has been left them by imperialist and multi-national interests, and the environment generally?

The nerve...
