I’m guessing this will be a project, and he won’t be a Chara for years, but the Bolts have nothing to lose at this point. Teach him to stay with his man, retrieve the puck, and finish checks and he’ll be doing better than most Bolts d-men. Hedman is the only one having a decent year, and Gudas is amazing.

Shane Gostisbehere who is legit but he’s two years from the NHL dude was a stud for team USA at the world juniors
but he’s more of a future kimmo timmonen power play captain from the point kinda guy

haha yeah I don’t think any of those guys would help turn around the Flyers. I was hoping they could reel in one of the top college free agent defensemen, because they have no real D prospects. But it appeared Tampa was in on Sustr from the beginning and they’re apparently a frontrunner for Dekeyser. You’re right though it’s very likely he ends up in Detroit as he has connections there. Just as the Flyers were never really in the running for Schultz, it appears to be the same circumstances with these kids. They signed one of the top college forwards but they have enough of them, they obviously need help on the backend. And the good thing about college kids is they’re further along in development, so they’re quicker to the NHL, although most say Sustr is kind of raw. But you can’t teach size, solid addition for Tampa.

As per Erik Erlendsson, #tblightning GM Steve Yzerman says plan is for Sustr to join team next week in Tampa, evaluate from there if he plays in NHL games

Dont forget Aulie lol, If your looking for a couple of Dmen, we can supply them, their all trash tho lol, MA bergeron, Brian Lee, and Keith Aulie should all be available. Also I think we’ll see some forwards traded away, we have a couple of prospects that have been in the minors for a while who deserve a shot; Connolly, JT Brown, Panik just got called up. we also have Barberio who deserves a shot. Don’t be surprised to see Danny Dekeyser sign with the Redwings, or even Tampa. He’ll probably get 30 offers, so I guess its whichever team he wants to play for.

Ah man I was really hoping the Flyers could bring this kid in. Better get in on the Danny Dekeyser sweepstakes. That kid is supposed to be just a notch below Justin Schultz. But Sustr definitely has potential. Tampa will have some imposing bodies on the backend with Sustr and Hedman.

Called it!! Thanks bud! After reading a story about Sustr having to pay his own gas and drive 14hrs (NCAA rules state that a player can’t take money from teams) to visit/participate in the Lightning prospect camp. I knew then we we’re the favorite to sign him. I can’t seem to find the link from that story!! lol

Agreed, Vinny has been a tremendous force for years, but now he’s injured at least once every season, he’s also slower than most NHLer’s. I like him and I grew up Idolizing him, but Im wondering if its time to part ways. Let St Louis take over! Also would like to see Brewer traded at the deadline, get Andrej Sustr signed (he’s 6’8″ look at the link below, he looks like a young chara in the making), And let go MA Bergeron. I like Hedman, Matt Carle, Keith Aulie, Radko Gudas, Brian Lee, and Its time to promote Mark Barberio! Any team that is in a playoff hunt could use a guy like Brewer (i’d be happy with 3rd-4th round pick or a young Dmen).

Chara has made a career of not being called for holding, but I thought the refs only pocketed the whistles for Chara because Greg Campbell plays for the Bruins.
