I sure hope if anyone was doubting (cough - murtdurt) what I said about Brodin and the Calder was watching tonight's game on NBC

He is the real F'n deal and everyone on NBC is having a massive bro'ner over him.

Brodin, as sweet as Bacon!

Love everything about this article. The opening, the video and most importantly, the recognition of this kid. He is simply amazing, and at the age of 19....I mean, think about that. His pose with the puck, decision making, speed, size, this kid has it all and will be a top defenseman in the league.

It does help playing with Suter, but everyone, please enjoy watching this kid grow!

Brodin has more then potential, he has star abilities and its on display every other night. We have all seen what the others have done and are doing but its apples to oranges. Brodin on defense is hard to compare to centers / wingers.

what I can tell you is that off all 4 mentioned in your comment, Brodin is the one I'd most want to have if I was a GM. 19 that plays top 2 role / minutes / shut down - puck moving d. This is a goals scored game, Brodin helps the wild get them (more now than before) and keep em off the score sheet.

Just wait, tonight with Pierre in between the benches, here is what will be said.

"Jonas Brodin, the smooth skating Swede. He along with Dougie Hamilton of the Boston Bruins are two of the top young defenders in the game."

The guy can not say anything nice about Brodin without bringing up Dougie Hamilton.

For non Wild fans, Brodin will not jump off the screen to you. But if you watch his play in the defensive zone, retrieving pucks, breaking out...you can't help but be impressed by his composure. The kid looks so poised back there it almost looks like Lidstrom. This kid is not in Lidstrom's class at this point, but he has that same cool demeanor when the pressure seems to ramp up. He's a slick skater and is now starting to get pucks on net. Low and behold they are going in. Once he learns to shoot more, the points will come in bunches. I can't wait until he fills his frame out in a few years.

And PHT, you do a great job covering the league. I get plenty of Wild news here. I guess i don't notice an east coast bias at all. I would like to see more on the Jackets and the job Todd Richards has been doing. Hats off to that team, the coaches, players, etc. Most are unaware they have been riddled with key injuries all season and still winning. They lost a bunch of close hard fought games to start the year or they would be even higher in the standings. Now that they have BOB on nets, it's looking real good. Way to go Jackets, I'm pulling for you to keep it up. The fans and entire organization deserve better and this season they are delivering hope.

He has a great chance to win the Calder, as long as his points per game production doesn't hurt him. I know a lot of these trophies are gifted due to goals / offensive related but Brodin truly has been amazing.

Top pairing dman, not out of place with Suter, and to his credit has got Suter back to his all star performance and its only 19. Amazing skater and positional player, his offensive game is starting to take form

Suter is the wilds best player, Brodin is the future.
