Hey- someone actually read my post from a while back. I have been arguing that when any player leaves the ice bloodied, there should be a video review for a high stick infraction.

I still like Brett Hull’s suggestion from years ago about increasing the size of the net… change the actual cage, not the size of it: If the pipe was 1-inch thick instead of the current 3, it creates an absurd amount of more shooting space without making the actual net bigger (I forget the exact percentage).

What I don’t get is the pushback against hybrid icing. There have been some horrific incidents over the past few years that were caused by touch-up icing. The hybrid rule at least keeps the race for the puck, but gives both plays a chance to slow down and not crash into the back wall and injure themselves.

Goalie equipment has already been reduced twice since the ’04 lockout. Goalies quickly adapted and, if anything, got better.

We don’t need more scoring, we need more scoring opportunities. If you’re dead set on increasing offence, go back to the standard of play we had after the lockout.

I think the coaches should get 1 challenge each PD. I also think that every scoring play should be automatically reviewed kind of like how the NFL automatically reviews scoring plays.

Get rid of the shootout if you’re gonna make rule changes, such an arbitrary way to decide on a game…orrrr hey, maybe the nba can start determining games via foul shooting competition or an nfl field goal kicking contest

Absolutely a good thing. These guys are way too big. Reduce the equipment or increase goal nets a little. Said this before and will say it again. Average goals per game are down. Not good. Need rules changes to benefit the offense.

Yeah I don’t like the idea of getting rid of some goalie equipment or getting a bigger net is ridiculous! I like the rules of the NHL just as it is.

The Most successful league in the US will fizzle out at the rate they are going.
Although I don’t agree with the goalie pad reduction or net expansion. I don’t see these rule changes altering the game to much.
The NFL continues to create rules that leave the refs with a judgement call. The NHL seems to be working to eliminate judgement calls wherever possible.
