Calgary Flames head coach Bob Hartley didn’t beat around the bush to the Dallas Morning News’ Mike Heika about the check Dallas Stars forward Cody Eakin delivered on Matt Stajan.
“That’s one of the dirtiest hits that I’ve seen,” Hartley said. “Those hits can end careers.”

Eakin, 22, received two minor penalties on the play: one for interference and one for roughing.
Interestingly, Jarome Iginla dropped the gloves with Eakin during Monday’s 4-3 Stars win, but that came before the hit happened:
