Friends, my prayers were answered tonight as we win yet again, with comrade Quick bringing up our rearguard in “resolute & steadfast” fashion! Those who earlier questioned Quick’s resolve will now be “dealt with” by units of Blomfeld’s Special Action Brigade! Regardless, we’re now back on track and preparing for another “glorious” assault on the high ground come this spring!

“A GATHERING OF FRIENDS” …

Excellent commentary by everyone above, which is hardly surprising given the fact that you’re obviously all “ardent and loyal” LA King’s fans like me! But seriously friends, it’s important that we never forget that our “one for all and all for one” credo is what makes us special and keeps us a cut above the rest. When one of our own are hurt or are in trouble, we don’t then “turn on them” like filthy rats on a sinking ship, which appears to be the MO of most teams these days. Rather, we Kings will step forward to take his place in the line, while at the same time rendering “care and concern” for our wounded comrade. It’s the way we are and it’s quite simply the reason why we’re the reigning Stanley Cup champions.

Seriously friends, Quick’s play thus far does admittedly have me concerned like some of you. But let’s not forget the surgery business in September, and of course the “whackiness” of this year’s schedule. I could be wrong, however I remain “completely” convinced that comrade Quick will be back into form by the time we “close rank” for another glorious assault on the high ground this coming spring!

Part of this may be that subconsciously the team plays slightly differently when Quick is in goal. He bailed them out and kept them in games last year, had a great run in the playoffs and won the Conn Smythe.

So maybe the team has the idea in the backs of their heads that they can take chances they aren’t taking with Bernier between the posts. Then again, maybe Quick just isn’t up to par yet. In any event I’m glad the Kings didn’t trade Bernier.

Just do not understand starting Quick. Kings do not have the time for him to be able to get it together

Play the player that gives you the best chance to win.
Right now that’s Bernier.

Quick may not be a factor this season for several reasons:
#1- Back Surgery less than a year ago.
#2 – Short Season. We can’t afford to let Quick work out the “kinks”
#3 – Pressure of $60 million contract

I love Quick I can forgive this season for him as a fan and as human being.

But for $60 million he better get it together by next year or he will be the most expensive back up in NHL.history!!!!

Do not trade Bernier this year!

I still think, aknowledging how well he played in the post-season last year, it was inexcusably foolish of the Kings to sign this guy for $58 million over ten years given that he had not shown the ability to play at such a high level consistently over a longer period, not to mantion the fact that he was going to have surgery on his back in the off-season.

Yah, as they proved last year, it’s all about peaking at the right time. Although if I was Sutter, I’d think about riding Bernier for a little bit and letting Quick work in practice. He’s overplaying the puck and taking himself out of position. Something one or both of the two vets on the staff could help him with one would think.

Almost makes the Kings more of a threat than they appear. After prolonged sub-par play, I feel like elite players, and Quick in this case, often rebound with a run where they dominate. If he comes around before playoff time, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was lights out. Makes a deep run by the kings possible.
