Meh, I love Boston, but I think good teams just come under more critiques because they are good. We always hear when penguins or captials do poorly, we just notice it more when its our team.

The panthers only outplayed the bruins in the second period. And this is a controversial goal no matter how you look at it. Arguments can be made from both sides. The fact is Matthais took out dougie from behind then took control of the puck, however it does look like dougie lost his balance and fell.

Boston fans are clearly going to want the league to look at a this goal but thats because it is controversial. That does not mean they are wrong, just standing up for their team. And saying that boston fans are ignorant or that the bruins didn;t deserve the win is just idiotic. 4 team goals over 1 individual effort pretty much solidifies the fact that boston is a much better team and played better.

Why does it seem like PHT is anti-Bruins? They win, are 2nd in the east with games in hand, and the video is of them letting up a shortie. And when they grind out a win or have a great game its nowhere to be found. Pittsburgh wins and it’s top of the news feed…they’re rolling right now, no doubt, but still. Maybe it’s just my Boston bias…i need more dougie hamilton news!

Ha! Tripping!?

He dove for the puck and clearly made contact with the puck first, that’s hands down the goal of the year so far … and not even remotely close to being a missed tripping call.

He outworked em, plain and simple.

Call or no call, that’s the hockey everyone wants to watch, and see their team play. Sometimes you just have to let the boys play. Nasty goal, not sure exactly what Tuukka was doing playing half off the right pipe.

This is why I love the NHL. Even on a team that (already) has little chance of getting in the playoffs, players will make efforts like that this that show their commitment to winning and passion for the game. This was all of that. As a Bruin fan, I thought this was Dougie Hamilton learning another lesson, not a tripping penalty. Matthias made a play, Dougie’s going to see more guys on better teams try to make plays like this as the playoffs go on. This was a good lesson and I’d rather have him learn it in March than in May. On the other hand, I think it’s also why the Bruins are more likely to trade for another D than for a scorer. If they want to keep Chara and Seidenberg together in the playoffs then they need another top caliber D man to play with Dougie (and you have to wonder how much time Claude’s going to give him in the playoffs given the mistakes he’s going to make as part of his development process).

Hamilton had body position. Matthias dove toward the puck, upended Hamilton, and then made contact with the puck. In the rulebook that’s tripping. Doesn’t change that he made a great effort. Just shouldn’t have been a goal. Should have been a penalty.

You know, you’re right! I never even thought about it that way… Every single save that Rask made was pure dumb luck. All three of the goals the Bruins scored with Clemmensen in net were total flukes too. I’m pretty sure the only way any of Boston’s passes made it from stick to stick was because Claude Julien had a four-leaf clover sewn into his underwear. Yep. Luck. That’s it.

It was borderline tripping, but even as a Bruins fan all I could say after that was, “Whoa, what a play.” Glad they didn’t call it because effort should be rewarded.

Why do bruins fans always have to complain? This was a good play and should not be a tripping. Hamilton is trying to put a shoulder into Matthias and topples over him…Outstanding play by Matthias and i know Dougie learned a lesson from this. Besides the bruins were totally out played in this game and should not have gotten the win. They are lucky that Clemmy sucks and cant save easy shots. Matthias deserved that goal for his hard work and not giving up on the play.

Lol. It was pretty close. He dove left towards the puck and Dougie was skating straight/right for position. Either way awesome goal and awesome effort.

Dougie really should have been the one to dive to push puck forward but he’ll learn.
