dude this thread really bums me out. here’s why. I’m from Norfolk (VA Beach, but still)

our new team MIGHT make playoffs. our old team still plays like an NHL team. but ya I loved Gudas in Norfolk. him and Conacher last year. now who do we have? Devante Smith-Pelly is like our best player IMO.

He’s been impressive! shows alot of composure for a young dmen, doesn’t throw the puck away like most dmen we have (except Carle, Hedman). from the small sample i’ve seen from him so far, Im very much impressed!!

“With Lecavalier on IR (but for no longer than a week says Steve Yzerman) and Tom Pyatt day-to-day with his own injury, the Lightning will recall Syracuse Crunch center Tyler Johnson. Johnson will become the sixth Lightning prospect to make his NHL debut this season (the others are Cory Conacher, Alex Killorn, Richard Panik, Ondrej Palat, and Radko Gudas). Johnson, who is a wee bit smaller than Lecavalier (5′ 10″ to Lecavalier’s 6′ 4″) but has been potent at the AHL level; he is just under a point-per-game pace, having scored 58 points (32 goals, 26 assists) in 59 games this season, second in the AHL to Gustav Nyquit’s 60 points for the Grand Rapids Griffins.”

I think there is a long list of prospects who could easily replace Hall, and Crombeen. If it wasn’t for development, Ice time. Most of the guy in the AHL are ready to play in the NHL, they just recalled Tyler Johnson (2nd place in pts AHL). Also Barberio deserves to be up, JT Brown, Brett Connolly, Richard Panik, Matt Toarmina, Dana Tyrell should be given a chance in front of these older guys. I understand Prospect Development is key to producing Great NHL players, but some of these guys deserve a chance to prove themselves at the NHL level.

Vinny had been at about 80% for a couple of weeks anyway. Probably time for him to take a rest.

Richard Panik had been playing fairly well, as well as Pierre Cedric Labrie, so expect to see more of those two soon. I can’t figure out why B.J. Crombeen keeps getting ice time – at Adam Hall’s expense, no less.
