Hate to see such hard worker get sidelined by such a serious injury but I don’t think the hit had any injury intent. The upside is that it opens up a slot for Iginla to come onboard in a couple of weeks. If Soderberg decides to play with the big boys watch out kids!

Pretty much solidifies the notion that they’ll make a move for a forward now. I think the argument can be made for a shut down, “stay at home” defenseman too but with Kelly out, their forward depth is somewhat of an issue. They’ve been fortunate with injuries so far this season. They have the cap room and a couple of prospects who can help to fill any holes in the line-up. Best case scenario, they make a move to improve and then Kelly comes back for the playoffs.

Wow…hard one to figure out? When Neil’s leg caught him below the knee, Neil was already half way past him…looks like Kelly took the shock next to his shin guard rather than square on. Hope the break is well below the joint. Six weeks including hyperbaric chamber then rehab?
