Always nice to meet a fellow mature hockey fan....no matter what team they follow.

It's a shame that both of our clubs have some real d-bags amongst their fanbase. It truly makes you wonder how some of these people make it through life, considering they haven't grown up and become adults at all.

First, apologies from a Pens fan on the behavior of some from our fan base. If the roles were reversed right now, guys like bobphine probably would be all bent out of shape. Its not fun when your team isnt doing well, and its classless when rival teams fans are spiking the football.

All that being said, Id stop the hyperventilating if I was a Flyers fan. Id like to point to the 2008/2009 Pittsburgh Penguins who limped into the playoffs, only by getting hot the last few weeks of the season. That June, us Pens fans were celebrating a Cup. Moral of the story? Theres still alot of hockey to be played, and the Flyers are only three points out of the 8 seed.

There are too many teams in the east very close in point and struggling to count the Flyers out. PS don't kid yourself Piney Bob is a trolling Dbag thats why he drives us nuts.
I am admittedly a lifelong Pens fan, and therefore, obviously enjoying the show here... both on PHT and the NHL. Bob Pine clearly drives you nuts because there are some kernels of truth in his disparaging rants of Flyer hatred. I'm not defending his methodology, per se... but he does make a few valid points here and there. That said, I generally avoid the flame wars on here. No need to add insult to injury. The Flyers are self destructing before our eyes. Bryzgalov takes a ton of blame, but maybe deserves only half of it. (That's still a lot of blame to absorb.) I fully understand the need of some Flyers fans to insist that they will make the playoffs, even if only as a daily affirmation of confidence and support of their team as a loyal fan... but if watching this team this season, you TRULY believe at this point that it's likely... I feel badly for you. They peaked during that epic win against the Pens a few weeks ago, and it's been a backslide ever since. I actually wish the Flyers luck, because they now need an epic win streak to have a shot. I'd prefer to see them in the playoffs personally, as I like the rivalry, but I won't shed a tear when they don't make the cut.

Let's not act like they didn't (usually) get a lot back in trades too - Simmonds, both Schenns, Couturier, etc. - but yeah, you'd think they might have been a little better off before than after, eh?

Bobhpiningforattention at it again. It seems like you have gotten to a few Flyers fans. I think I can clear some issue up here.

If you guys did not know, bobhpiningforattention is a little bit older as implied through his numerous posts as I believe he has been alive longer an the Pens have been in existence. Bob is also the kind of guy that boasts about drinking wine. I am not sure why, but it is a proclamation he made in a prior post. Bob also is owner of multiple poodles, a real man's man. It's a shame this site does not offer posters an option to have an avatar. I would just love to them in matching sweaters. Now you must be asking, why am I telling you all of this?

You see Bobhpiningforattention is a bitter old Penguins' fan who has endured lifetime of losing to the Flyers. The Flyers are 142-84-30 all time versus his beloved Pens. The Flyers are also 4-2 in postseason series against them. Since both teams have entered the league, the Flyers have finished with more points in the regular season 30 times, while the Pens have only finished ahead of the Flyers 11 times and 3 times they were even. In the playoffs the Flyers have advanced further than the Pens 28 times, while the Pens have advanced further 12 times and 4 times they were knocked out in the same round. The Pens also hold a 17-8 margin in missing the playoffs. Just so you know bobhpiningforattention, the larger number is not the better number in this instance.

So as you can see, in 44 years Bobhpiningforattention's team has been more successful 11-12 times or approximately 25-27% of the time. Bobhpiningforattention's team also admittedly lost games to draft their franchise's greatest player Mario Lemeiux. So all of the successes beyond that point lack integrity to some degree. It almost makes you question the legitimacy of the first two cups. I have no qualms about the third one but if the franchise had played with respectability, Mario would have been a Devil and the Penguins would have relocated elsewhere leaving the third cup to a more deserving city. And all bobhpiningforattention would have left is wine and poodles. I believe that would make him a male "cat-lady."

You know what some of you guys whine so much about Bryz you should be Hens fans. Bryz made tons of saves that kept this team in it. Anyone who says different has not been watching games this season. That guy has been hung out to dry more than a bath towel by a leaky defense and costly turnovers. That being said this team will make the playoffs but what they lack is that elite dman that was Pronger. Last year Poile asked for Schenn, Couts and picks in exchange for Weber and everybody was up in arms over it. I always thought Homer was a fool for not making that trade. So far he's proving my point
