Columbus Blue Jackets forward Matt Calvert has landed on highlight reels for some impressive and timely goals lately. This time around, he’ll get on some because he received a big hit.
Vancouver Canucks forward David Booth landed this significant blow on Calvert early in the teams’ matchup on Tuesday:
Calvert, 23, needed help off the ice after that hit, but the Columbus Dispatch’s Aaron Portzline reports that he ended up returning to action.

Nice hit…Calvert got caught looking for nickels and Booth gave him a dollar’s worth of change! Booth did ask the Jackets if he could have Calvert’s head to mount with his other trophies [ a bear, a ram, a squirrel, several gophers...the neighbour's chihuahua ]? Jackets told Booth to get stuffed…

That is how you make that hit cleanly! Arms to the chest, no upward motion or leaving the feet.
