Another tough guy is on the move. This time, it’s forward Matt Kassian, who goes from Minnesota to Ottawa for a sixth-round pick in 2014.
Kassian has yet to play an NHL game this season. He attended Wild training camp before being sent to AHL Houston on Feb. 12.
In 2011-12, the 26-year-old had two goals, no assists and 55 PIM in 24 games for the Wild while averaging just over five minutes of ice time.
This is mostly what he does:

Best of luck to kassian! Glad to see the wild moved him. He deserves some ice time and there just isn’t room for him on the wild roster anymore.

good deal for the Wild… free would be a better deal for Ottawa.
nothing to brag about tho
Kassian isn’t much of a player and most likely the 6th round pick will equal that in the future. both teams get what they want

also, the best part that I forgot to mention is the roster spot… Wild going for Nate Schmidt?

I am 99% sure he is free to sign with who ever he chooses. His draft year is in the past. or am I reading your post wrong?

Schmidt is 3 seasons in to college hockey, I’m pretty sure his draft window has passed.
