There are a bunch of NBA shows getting zero ratings. Maybe you should go watch half court shots and unchallenged dunks, and navel gaze about the plight of the Lakers. Obviously, you don’t like the plethora of fighting, high scoring games and tight playoff races.

doubt it, maybe if he had a team friendly deal in place, but he’s an RFA after this season so he’s going to want a raise, and a 1st round pick is way too much for someone unproven. I think a 2nd rounder and a 3rd rounder is more realistic. Even if LA will ask for a 1st rounder or a roster player, doesn’t mean they’ll get it!

Yeah, he doesn’t want to be there, he asked to be traded, they will not get a 1st round pick or even a 1st + is way too much! He’s unproven, doubt he gets a 1st round pick, he an RFA at the end of the season, and will want at least 2-3M. I don’t think he’s worth more than a 2nd and a 3rd or a prospect and a 2nd round pick.

Why not trade for Jonathan Bernier? We could get him for a 2nd and a 3rd IMO. Get him some time in front of the net for the rest of the season, Lindback is only owed 1.8M. He can be a very good backup If he doesn’t become the Elite goalie the bolts are hoping for. Also it gives us a good Young Goalie in Bernier, if Bernier doesn’t work out after next season or even at the 2014 deadline, you trade him. Or he can become a very good backup if he agrees!

I wouldn’t mind seeing him become a Bolts, but we’ll need to trade one of our big contract back the other way. I think Roberto Luongo would thrive in a bolts jersey! Also we need at least 1 more top 6 d-men. Do we really need Ryan Malone? No we now have 3-4 guys who can contribute the same as he does for far less money. I know he has a no movement clause but if he were to be traded to the Pens or even for Luongo. I don’t see him not waiving his NMC. Vancouver could use his grit, and his front of the net presence to make another playoff run.

Forget players, Y should hire a new coach. Hire Hitchcock (hire him now, Blues are going to fire him anyway). I want to see him try to turn Stamkos into a 25 goal checking forward.

Sadly, this potential absurdity is the only entertainment I get out of this league at the moment.

They’ve got a lot of good pieces down there, yeah there 13th in the east but look what they’ve gained in a year a goalie that will get better, Matt Carle Sami salo Benoit puliot all serviceable players. Not to mention Corey connacher, even with Stamkos there’s no true quick fix to this team without giving up the future.

Such as? Vancouver’s mostly looking to move one of their collection of expensive D contracts for some centre depth right now, not one of their goalies while they’re still not clear which one they actually want.

The Lightning only have like 5 skaters over 30, and we’re not a contender. Obviously we’re not going to trade for rentals.

The interesting part is that this was Yzerman’s response to their beat reporter asking what they’d do at the deadline – and all he did is say what they wouldn’t do. My GM-speak translator suggests Tampa Bay might be selling their way into a youth movement this year.

To me, there is a deal to be done between Vancouver and Tampa Bay. The Bolts should not waste their excellent collection of forwards by pairing it with subpar goaltending.

Yzerman’s made it clear, even if this season doesn’t go well, he’s going all in on the future seasons, next season and beyond. He’s got to be pretty aware Tampa isn’t going to win a cup this year ( sorry guys, you’re not ) but he has hopes that he can make a few trades and next season and the season after they can start contending again

Friends, don’t ask me why, but I’m positively “convinced” that by “hook or by crook” Roberto Luongo ends up in Tampa Bay! Yes, I know that the Miami angle is also a possibility. But right from the very start, Tampa Bay is where I saw this man ultimately ending up. Regardless, we’ll see soon enough, one way or the other eh?
