That’s what I saw, too.

Those two guys are also friends who train together in the off season. It’s doubtful Neil did this intentionally. His history (rightfully) puts plays like this under a microscope.

Straightened the knee and looked right at Kelly. Not a fan of this hit. Retaliation for McQuaid’s questionable dumping of him in the corner.

Also, the Lucic “hit” was entirely accidental – two guys skating in orbit around the puck and they just crashed in to each other.

The reason Neil is still on hockey rosters (and the same team for the last 10 years) is because he has skill. If he were just a guy who picks up penalties (e.g. John Scott) he wouldn’t be around in the NHL this long. Personally I couldn’t tell if the Kelly was dirty or not. I wasn’t pleased to see Kelly have to be helped off the ice…this probably means we’ll be seeing Spooner (or at least Pandolfo).

Ignore all the history and what you see as dirty Bruins play for a minute. As a fan of the game, do you think that Neil’s hit was ok? We’re not talking about the abtract here. We’re talking about one hit that looked very much like a dirty, knee-on-knee hit.
