I like Ebbett...big heart and he never quits skating, small but effective! I can't see the Canucks staying sour for to much longer. Get the slump over now, and hit their stride in the first round while hoping to avoid Red Wings team withering skating game. If the Ducks tank, I see Canucks back in the final with more resolve and determination. Sell the Canucks short at your own peril...

Well, they might as well the way they've been using him. Playing him on the fourth line is just dumb. He's not going to succeed playing next to a guy like Sestito. But really, I don't know why they won't give this kid more of a chance if nothing else by default. I mean, for better or worse, is he not a better than Raymond (as a center I mean) who can't win a faceoff to save his life? Or Lapierre...who has the offensive instincts of a dead cat?

Schroeder was doing well in a number of areas, but faceoffs were an issue. He had some good games in the dot, but seemed to lose key faceoffs when he was trusted to do them. His positional play and passing were good, although he needed to be more aggressive offensively and playing better minutes on the Wolves will help him do that.

Having said that, Ebbett hasn't been good in the NHL this year so he won't be much of a solution to replace Schroeder. Hopefully that's short term until something better is found.
