A Missouri landlord is suing St. Louis Blues forward TJ Oshie, claiming Oshie’s dogs caused $12,000 in damages to a penthouse suite.

Ashley Development (doing business as Buckingham Apartments) filed the suit in St. Louis County Court.

Here’s more, from Courthouse News Service:

“Defendant [Oshie], during the lease term, maintained two dogs which he customarily kept locked out onto the patio. During defendant’s tenancy, said dogs scratched and/or chewed on the custom screens, causing them to suffer irreparable damage necessitating the need for their replacement.”

Buckingham claims the dogs did $11,026.92 in damages and it will cost another $1,000 to repaint or stain the door frames.

Oshie paid $3,750 a month rent – including utilities, sewer, trash, satellite TV and Internet services, according to the complaint.

Courthouse News reports that, according to a YouTube video, Oshie claims to have a pair of rescue dogs.

That would make sense, given the Blues (most notably captain David Backes) are prominent figures in local area dog rescue drives, which includes their Pucks for Paws campaign.

And why exactly doesn’t he simply pay for the repair? Too expensive for a $26m man?
This story reminds me of the Taxi fare cheating by an NHL player some years ago.

Really? I read the entire article and it didn’t say anything about him beating anybody up. Did you not make it to the end or are you just an idiot?

      • freneticgarfieldfan - Mar 11, 2013 at 1:17 PM

Who said something about beating up?
I was referring to the player who denied the cab driver a tip of 20 cents.
Think before youi call somebody an idiot (except yourself).

The player you refer to is Patrick Kane. The 20 cent incident resulted in Kane assaulting the cab driver in Buffalo. Learn to google and people won’t think you’re an idiot.

Well you only have one side of the story so maybe it’s best to reserve judgment

Beating up a cab driver and having two untrained dogs chew up a door screen are two different things there big guy. Or are you just trying to take a jab at American players?
