The Columbus Blue Jackets are heating up while Matt Calvert is collecting some highlight reel goals.
On Thursday, he scored what some described as a “video game goal” in overtime to push Columbus beyond the Vancouver Canucks 2-1 in overtime. Extra time seems to be where he shines, as he dazzled with this shootout goal in the Blue Jackets’ 3-2 SO win against the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday:
That Blue Jackets are now on a five-game winning streak and finished their season series against Detroit at 4-0-1.

Somebody get our Jimmy a collection of Johnny Bower highlights…this kid has got to bring a poke-choke into his game! On his knees too early all game, and no poke-check, same old same old…

Yes… VERY poor. All he had to do was a little poke-check… That’s it!

They crushed Vancouver… came close against Chicago… and within a week… the Wings are suddenly struggling BADLY.
Kronwall… 5 offensive zone giveaways.. almost an IMMEDIATE goal within 3 minutes… then gained himself an nice assist on a BlueJacket goal later.
What was up with Hank??? Missed pucks and turnovers all game… and about as weak a shootout goal attempt that I’ve ever seen.
Ericsson back to getting pushed around all over the D boards.
Good thing we can score with a TWO man advantage.
Babs was LIVID all game long
Wow… Let’s Go RED WINGS… seriously guys… LET’S GO!

Flyers and Columbus should trade back ups in mason and Boucher honestly wouldn’t be a bad trade.

The jackets should trade mason for a bag of air. Actually, no bag would be necessary.
