haha there are so many douchebags on this website. Give the guy a break, he said its tough to have your ex team fans boo you all game. Its true, it would suck. The guy has a lot of respect for the city, organization and fans….he’s said that. He had an opportunity to make a life change and he took it, get over it. Also, you act like he seeks out the media to give his thoughts on Nashville and their fans. C’mon man, he’s forced into those situations.

I don’t know… Suter is putting up numbers, has shown some physical play, and is generally a good leader. Parise is def. worth the $, but the team this year wouldn’t be the same without Suter

I’m a Wild fan. Suter is good but not worth the money. I’d say he’s only the second best D-man on our young team. He tends to play too lackadaisically in my opinion, as his plus/minus attests to.
Parise is worth every penny.
Twins should have kept A.J.

Sorry Ryan but that’s how it works. You could have stayed and made plenty of money while trying to finish the job in Nashville with a Cup but you did what most athletes do….chased as much $$$ as possible.

I don’t think there is a single Preds fan that has a problem with Suter leaving for the obvious reasons (money, family, location etc). It was in the manner of his not being up front and honest to Preds Management. Yes it is a business but the Management team is human and would have understood. Just don’t keep telling us what we wanted to hear and “I’ll be back, you’ve offered me what I want, I want to stay in Nsh”…

The most obvious message sent to Suter (and it wasn’t the booing): it was the lack of the TRIBUTE VIDEO that the Preds have normally done for those players that have either been let go or have left (hamhuis included) but there was not one done for Mr. Suter. Hey even Tootoo got one!

Nashville fans had every right to boo Suter. Heck, us MN fans have no right to be all high and mighty — we still boo AJ Pierzinski (formerly of the White Sox) 10 years after he left the team, and he was traded. Preds fans can boo Suter all they want, but they shouldn’t act with any indignation that he left to play near his and his wife’s home, with a team that has more financial resources, and with more young talent.

I’m a believer in not necessary having to like guys after they leave your club, but try to remember when they were good and how they helped you at the time. Watching CR7 return to Old Trafford last week in champions league he was greeted warmly by the crowd [despite having left Man Utd to go to Real Madrid] and didn’t boast when he scored the game winning goal. It goes both ways.

It doesn’t matter WHY he left. Money, family, friends, chance to win – everyone has to do what they feel is best for them and those they love, and respecting and understanding that as a human isn’t so hard — most of us make choices for the exact same reasons: more money, more security, more enjoyment, family issues, etc.

There’s a good chance we may be this first team’s fans in the history of pro sports to boo a player that left after multiple years with that organization. I mean the way some of you say it’s “classless” and everything i figured no one’s ever been booed before in a situation like ours in professional sports!

Give me a damn break! Yeah we booed the hell out of him. We watched him his ENTIRE PROFESSIONAL CAREER until this season. 7 plus year investment, not to mention the organization and fans all believed by words that fell from Suter’s mouth he would be back. Weber even said he was “shocked” by his decision. We have every right to boo him if we want. Don’t sit there and act like we’re booing some player that has strong ties to your team. You’ve been watching him play for TWO MONTHS, ok?

Another thing, he chose Minnesota becuase of it’s geographical location to family (his WIFE is from there). He wanted to be closer to family, and his buddy also happened to go there which is nice. I actually respect Suter for basing his decision off his family. However, if Suter’s family, or more importantly his wife, happened to be from Mississippi he’d probably still be here. Let’s not pretend like Minnesota was the must go to destination for him. I’m certainly not saying we are, but we all know Detroit and Chicago also wanted him (among other great teams). Yet he chooses Minny? YEAH, that has wife’s decision written all over it. Remember that next time you wanna run to Suter’s defense. Your team won the Suter sweepstakes by default. But you did still win it so I guess there’s that. I will say, If he wasn’t going to stay here I certainly prefer him in Minnesota over Detroit or Chicago

I still like Suter though, I’m also a big fan of international play and he’ll still be playing for my (our) country. But as a Preds fan I had to boo him relentlessly. Sorry if it hurt Suter’s or Wild fan’s feelings. Best of luck to Suter going forward, except when he plays us.

yes, money over loyalty. or maybe because he is from Wisconsin, his wife is from Minnesota, all their family and friends live in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Oh, and maybe that Minnesota has one of the best farm systems in the NHL that shows we’ll be able to win for a long time with homegrown players.

Yes, we all believe that. However, I tend to wonder if Parise believed that deal would happen. He asks for $98 million dollars, they agree, then wants $25 million up front. Sure, why not? He just captained a cup run. Then he asks for another $98 million with another $25 million dollars up front for a specific defenseman who was not just NOT the best on his own team. He wasn’t even the best on the FA market. Can any Devils fan imagine the agida if Shea Weber AND Rick Nash went to NY or Philly? Minnesota didn’t do either. With that kind of cash available and prospects, a trade and a big signing could have had that duo.

What did he expect? Just get over it. He made the choice and he chose more money. He was one of Nashville’s favorite players and he left. I always hate to see this happen, but it happens. Fans always hate to see native sons or players that have played on a team for a while leave in favor of more money, so naturally on that player’s return, they get booed. That’s the way it works.
