Ovechkin has become a complete joke. Remember when some people actually thought this one trick pony was the “best in the world”? Yeah, that was pretty funny even then to those watching with objective eyes. He wasn’t even the best Russian in the KHL when he spent the lockout there. And he’s completely un-movable. No GM in the NHL thinks he’s worth anything near his cap hit. No GM in the league would jeopardize their organization to give up significant pieces and take on that contract in trade to get a guy who has shown no indication of ever becoming what he was. He is now a completely toxic entity.

If the Caps are smart, and they aren’t, they’ll use an amnesty buyout on him and free themselves.

They really need to strip him of the captaincy, he has no leadership. I still say someone like brouwer or laich.
Its really frustrating. If you know the refs are targetting you then shut up and move on. Ugh… So annoyed.

Oh, so Ovi has a sour attitude to complement all his turnovers and poor play this season. Great. Dude, get over it. You are supposed to be a leader, but really, you are nothing but a me-monster.

There is absolutely no leadership on the Caps team especially not coming from Ovechkin. Sorry, but this isn’t a coaching problem. Oates is stuck with a bunch of primadonna me-monsters. No leadership or guts at all.

“ME STAY IN KHL” …

Given his history of threatening to defect to the KHL last fall, this clown should be grateful that he isn’t being “ejected” from games whenever he opens his stupid yap! Just “zip it” Ovi and focus instead on actually “earning” some of the ten million which you pocket annually from the Caps. How this guy can be still wearing the “C” is beyond belief, though that’s probably due to the forgiving and kind-hearted nature of the Capital’s organization. Nonetheless, there’s likely an “unwritten” understanding among the officials this year, that any “lip” period will not be tolerated from those who uttered threats of defection last fall (ie: Ovi, Kovi, Bryzi, Datsi, Malki, etc) … and I say “good” on Bettman and crew for showing these ungrateful people who’s the boss around here!

note: here’s an example for Ovi which illustrates how one “ought” to react after scoring a brilliant goal … no show-boating or “over the top” hot-dog antics … just pure aplomb, grace and humility …
