Video: Oilers’ Dubnyk scored on from center ice

Mar 8, 2013, 9:10 PM EST

Devan Dubnyk has had better days.

On Friday, the Edmonton Oilers goalie let a bouncing shoot-in from center ice off the stick of David Legwand get by him, giving the Nashville Predators a 2-0 first period lead. Dubnyk was pulled after the first period. He allowed two goals on 13 shots.

Tres bummaire? A goose just walked over Dan Cloutier’s grave…bad luck and trouble! Forget it Devan…it’s happened to the best in the game [ I still think the League should demand Predators’ management remove the Hooters lounge from the concourse in the home team’s end ]?

I’m a canucks fan but ugh my feelings go to the kid… that just sucks, and everyone should know he’s a better goalie than that

I would have given you a thumbs up thehighcountrybear if it wasn’t for the blatant anti Hooters comment that you tacked on the end of your comment there…lol…Did anybody else pay attention to the announcers at the end talking about how the puck might have glanced off of Peckham? Too funny….

Could Edmonton get the #1 draft pick for a 4th year in a row?

I think it’s Luongo time for the Oilers

The good news for Dubnyk is that Vesa Toskala still holds the NHL record for longest shot allowed, about 177 feet by Rob Davison of the Islanders. And it was a shorthand goal.

The 177 foot estimate is closer than the 197 that announcer Joe Bowen calls out, as in his stunned excitement he momentarily forgot the red line’s distance from the boards. Alas, ain’t nobody perfikt, write?
