Video: Oilers’ Brown fights Predators’ Clune

Mar 8, 2013, 9:25 PM EDT

Nashville Predators winger Rich Clune was cut underneath his eye following a spirited fight with Edmonton Oilers new tough guy Mike Brown in the first period of Friday’s game.

For Brown, it was his second fight in as many nights. He dropped the gloves Thursday with Jordin Tootoo of the Detroit Red Wings.

However, Clune might get the last laugh. He scored 51 seconds into the second period and is an assist away from the Gordie Howe hat trick. The Predators, as of this post, had a 4-0 lead on the visiting Oilers.

Not to take anything away from Brown, but the so-called fight with Tootoo was utterly pointless, did not land a punch, and only woke up the Wings. The Oilers were holding their own more or less, and may have done better if Brown had let let sleeping dogs lie. And Brown’s duck, hold and throw technique is going to make other toughs around the League verrrry happy…

Brown is gonna get ko’ed if he steps up in class eventually ! He is smelling himself on the the fight with Ty McGinn in philly ! Brown is rugged but he is not a monster enforcer ! Eventually the little train that could will be on PHT being helped of the ice with little birdies flying around his helmet !
