How will Ryan Getzlaf’s new eight-year, $66 million contract impact Corey Perry‘s future?
That’s the big question now in Anaheim.
Perry, 27, is a a pending unrestricted free agent and, of the two players, was thought to be the most likely to test the open market once his current contract with the Ducks expires this summer.
Predictably, Perry isn’t committing to anything, telling reporters today he’s just going to “wait and see what happens.”
“I’m not going to change my answer just because [Getzlaf] signed,” said Perry, per the OC Register.
While the 2011 Hart Trophy winner concedes “it helps” that Getzlaf will be with the Ducks long term, it won’t be the only factor in Perry’s decision-making process.
