If by “struggled to convert” you mean “scored at a 20 goal pace last year” then yeah. There seems to be a perception that Booth has thus far has failed to score in his time with the Canucks but it simply isn’t based in fact. His numbers in the past haven’t been great but they haven’t been bad either. And now, this season, he’s come back off another injury which means he is jumping right in against guys in midseason form with no training camp or preseason whatsoever. In fact, those first few games he barely even played any major minutes. Given all that, there is really no reason to be so pessimistic. This is simply a case of a solid player playing well and not getting any luck for a few games. It happens all the time. If he keeps playing like this things will even out in the long run.

yeah it’s honestly so hard to judge him. he’s faced a lot of poor luck since joining the canucks, and his underlying numbers are really impressive… but there’s simply that undeniable stat that is goals/assists. booth simply struggles to convert despite being such an obviously hard working player. you can evoke luck, but some players just have ‘it’ while other’s don’t. it doesn’t help that his hockey sense is subpar for his skill cohort (terrible at passing) and he’s struggled to find chemistry with the team. still, you really want the guy to succeed… while understanding why it’s necessary if he’s let go

I don’t know…? Is Booth’s bolt shot, did he blow his wad and become just another flash in the pan? Players of this caliber need to keep their sights on the big target, forget the trophies, aim for the stars and shoot the moon. For Booth of course, he needs to keep his powder dry, find the bullseye, tell his detractors to get stuffed and not hang his head. If he continues at his zero points in eight games clip, he may be discharged or fired…we know the Vancouver media are already gunning for him, aiming to pin his hide to the shed, Ned. I just don’t know…
