The guy had a hall of famer making him look good last year. He is not consistent and you can’t say his numbers are attractive/impressive. 1g, 1a, +/- is -2 in 14 games. Last here he did well here, had best +/- and was 4 points behind Lidstrom on the team… but he had Lidstrom, key word there. Now he is water trash. We need offensive defenderers. (Oxymoron?)

Not everyone can play for Babcock, or would want to play for Babcock. Example:

White’s history in Detroit. He’d of either had to have Norris like output generally or found a way to anchor the otherwise embarrassing power play to stay with a Wings team trending toward big, relatively mobile defensemen. Small defensemen are going the way of the gooney bird: huge board crashing forwards and rules permitting a flat-out run at the end-boards have changed the way the puck is handled against the pedantic and game killing dump-in. Take away the trapezoid, guys of White’s stature become relevant again. Incidentally, I think both Kindl and Ericsson are doing fine; it’s too easy to criticize young players while ignoring game by game gaffes committed by the so-called elite defensemen around the League…

I’d keep him, we’ve had enough problems on defence via injuries for years now, last thing we need is to trade one.

Fusion – I’ll give Kindl a ‘little’ credit… but he should be expected to put together… maybe one full season of decent hockey… not little pockets surrounded by crap play and turnovers.

I don’t feel bad for him. He can choose to whine… or play up to the level of his competition.

Only a team with injuries will pick up a guy who couldn’t even make it on a 4th line.

Agreed on young guys… love Lashoff.

Have they ever. Lashoff is essentially Stuart 2.0, and suddenly Kindl is playing the best Hockey of his career. I have to believe Carlo will get a shot over White if they’re replacing anyone in the lineup.

Well said clefty! Despite not putting up numbers this year hes got experience under his belt, and detroits young skaters may not cut it yet come playoff time. Detroit needs to focus on getting their first though…

I kind of feel bad for the guy. Last year he was partnered with the greatest defenseman of all time, and this year he can’t even crack the lineup. I guess that’s a pretty good problem to have for the Wings though. The young guys are stepping up.
