The Flyers also didnt have Overtime of any kind…….so the point streak can be compared because the Flyers never played past 60 minutes and the Hawks record is points after 60 minutes……..are we really still debating the OTL nonsense?? Is it difficult to understand that if we used the 1980 points model (the only one that can be used to compare)…….. the Blackhawks have 24/30 in a row………

What you are referring to is a DIFFERENT streak…….That record you speak of is exactly what you said consecutive points in a single season.

Except Lacrosse but its still a goalie nonetheless. As far as football and quarterbacks, we have seen time and again a team can get by with a bad quarterback. Theirs other ways to score be it running the ball or field goal or turnover. A good quarterback is important, but a good goalie has more to do with a win or loss.

All time NHL win streak= 17 games, Penguins. All time point streak single season= 35 games, Flyers. Naturally you shouldn’t count last year, because by that rationale you would have to consider playoff games, where they might have taken a regulation loss (even though no points are awarded, a regulation loss is still a regulation loss, thereby ending a streak). Sorry I had to say that, my buddy is a huge Hawks fan and thinks last year should count. All things considered, they are definitely playing incredible hockey. Reminds me of that hockey commercial from last year/year before where they show Flyers having an undefeated season, and they all grow beards in honor of the streak, and a headline read “Beard gets assist” This Hawks streak might be the closest thing we ever see to that effect…

This streak is an unbeaten in regulation streak either. This streak takes into account that they haven’t lost in regulation OR overtime. (Considering the fact that in the old days there was no charity point for losing in OT, only staying tied after OT, i.e going to the shootout under the curent rules.)

It’s not an unbeaten streak, it’s an unbeaten in regulation streak… everyone knows that. Regardless of the 3 SO losses which is nothing more than a technicality, this streak is incredible… I am an Avalanche fan and I completely respect what Chicago has going here. It could be Detroit and I would still have to respect it and what it does for the league. Simple minded fans who put on blinders because its not their team are not hockey fans at all…

As a hawks fan I dont count last year. But they are closing in on the all time win streak. Everybody else that feels how i do regarding last years 6 game streak….would it count if the hawks completely missed the playoffs and didnt lose those games to Phoenix?
