Video: Ryan Callahan scores a beauty vs. Philly

The New York Rangers need other key players to step up with Brad Richards sidelined for at least Tuesday night. So far, captain Ryan Callahan has been that guy against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Callahan, 27, collected both of the Rangers’ goals as of this writing. His second one was the most captivating:

(That’s the kind of move that will score you buckets of goals in EA’s latest video game “NHL 13,” by the way.)

After scoring a career-high 29 goals in 2011-12, Callahan’s had a slow start to 2013, as he came into Tuesday with five tallies and seven points in 17 games. Perhaps a night like this will help him regain last season’s strong form?

    yep, nasher just pulled the exact same move. both really nice goals. hope staal’s okay that looked nasty.

      Remember Bryan Berard? Had his eye popped open by an errant stick blade? How any of these guys play without a shield is beyond me, but then again I’m a girly man and not a hockey player.
