Quickie’s contract would make it harder to trade him, but it also doesn’t make much sense to pay him that much to be a backup. If Quick returns to form Bernier becomes the expendable one and would bring quite a bit in return. Such a nice problem to have. Keeping both would be ideal, but Bernier deserves a chance to be someone’s #1, especially after his stellar play of late.

Quick needs his confidence back. He is scrambling too much in the goal mouth, and letting in goals that he would easily defend last season. He has shown signs of his brilliance from last season only fleetingly here. The talent is still there obviously, he just needs to settle down.

We’ll see how he does tonight as he gets the call against St. Louis.

Friend, that must have been a great time there last night eh? Anyway, I’m just curious as to what your take is on Quick, as he doesn’t seem right at the moment? Do you think the big contract has softened his resolve or is it just a case of taking time to recover from the back surgery? I personally suspect that it must be the latter.

That was exactly what the doctor ordered after that upsetting BS on Saturday night. Way to go Jeff! Way to step up and “personally” get things back on track for us! And way to go Bernier for picking up the slack while Quickie works on his recovery. Blessed is this team and blessed are it’s fans!
