THIS IS EXACTLY WHY GOLF HAS USURPED HOCKEY AS MY FAVORITE SPORT !

Just like the old saying, a picture can tell a thousand words. I personally don’t care for the Rangers one way or the other (ie: except for the fact that they’re Sportfan69′s favorite team) and yet I find this imagery positively abhorrent! At the very least, that filthy swine Kaleta should be at Brad Richard’s side here, rendering assistance and offering words of compassion like “hey man, just relax and take it easy” etc. Hockey is nothing but a “simple” sport, not some “kill or be killed” bloody war! It’s almost redundant to say that were a golfer to accidentally strike down one of his playing partners with an errant swing of the club, then faster than Haley’s Comet would such golfer be at the victim’s side, rendering first aid and words of soothing compassion !

Executive Summary: “Hockey Players = Common Boars” … while “Golfers = Class”

The “Brad Richards injury conspiracy theory”:

Richards decides that throwing himself head first into the boards in a 1-0 regular season game when his team is already on the powerplay is worth possibly breaking his neck and never walking again. He decides to use poor Patrick Kaleta as a scapegoat and eagerly awaits Kaleta to approach him from behind. He then proceeds to throw himself head first into the boards and squirms in agonizing pain, which of course was all a show. After the penalty is called he decides that going to the locker room would add credibility to his scam even though the penalty has already been called.

After the game he bribes Ryan Miller to say during an interview that it was a bad hit that he doesn’t like to see in the game. Richards then calls up Mike Millberry and Keith Jones and bribes them to both agree that it was a terrible hit. The next day, to add further credibility to his story, Richards sits out of an important game against the flyers.

Makes perfect sense, huh?

OR….maybe Kaleta threw a bad hit.

the fact that these arguments are getting so many thumbs down means i should probably save my breath, but enough is enough already. “oscars” yes, the guy purposely went head first into the boards. He didnt practice yesterday and half of you clowns were saying “maintenance day” do you honestly think he would go to these lengths to prove a point over kaletta? and people talk about this guy as if the sabres are missing a key component, he’s garbage.
Now Richards is potentially missing an impt game to keep up with faking everyone and all the doubters. Get a grip already. and one commenter keeps mentioning his “smirk” how do you even know what he was smirking about, someone could have made a joke or light of what happened or how he fell. Kaletta was already suspended, it isn’t like he has to prove he is even more hurt. Actually, IM wrong, a lot of you fans on PHT are doubting him. He caught wind of it and really needs to convince some of you. It’s sad when some of these names i know by heart because no matter the time, place or article they always have to comment and most of the time make no sense and bring nothing to the table.

Ever been in a car accident? I have. Fortunately, I was ok and able to walk away and went to work all day. But, by 3pm I was so sore that I went home and laid in bed and could hardly move. Once the shock wears off, it hurts like crazy.

I’m not surprised. I went to a Rangers game at Buffalo last year with my girlfriend, the Rangers were up and Stepan got hurt. The reaction from the fans around me were to cheer the injury and smirk at me when I made eye contact with them (I was wearing my Callahan jersey). What I learned from that is, with some exceptions, the fan base lacks any class, as has been reflected in these boards the past two days.

I’m not sure I buy being “hurt” two days after being fine enough to participate in the game. I guess its possible his body started to seize up after the game but skating around takes a lot of muscle strength and use. Did they have practice yesterday?

Technically its the Rangers who have a few games in hand on the Flyers… but you’re correct that this is a much bigger game for the Flyers then it is the Rangers. If the Flyers lose, they will be a point behind the Rangers after playing three more games. Thats a bad place to be since they could be as much as seven points back.

i have and based on the hit i saw i would take a guess he is experiencing something ismilar…
